Citizenship - Key Stage 4

At KS4, pupils can opt to complete the Edexcel Citizenship Studies GCSE course. This focuses on rights, responsibilities, politics, the law, the media and national and international organisations. The course also includes a project to promote active Citizenship which pupils then review about in their second exam.

In addition, we cover key Citizenship and Personal Development elements including drugs and alcohol education, mental health, sex and relationships education, consumer rights, financial responsibility and how to vote. This is part of the core lesson arrangement where pupils in years 10 and 11 have one lesson of Citizenship per fortnight for half of the year.
